The Bay La Sun area in the King Abdullah Economic City is envisaged to be a vibrant mixed-use residential district. Fronting onto the sea water canal, the park and promenade sits at its core and is viewed as a highly important green space on a city and district level. It shall be one of the first major open spaces to be completed in this prestigious development and shall provide residents and visitors with an attractive, functional area for passive and active recreation.
The facilities in the park include; two miniature golf courses, wet and dry play areas, a multi-use games court, fitness trail, a “Club” with a luxurious swimming pool, which shall be associated with the adjoining hotel, and a large amphitheater overlooking the canal. All of these facilities are nestled among generous flexible lawn spaces, shady walkways and palm groves. This is complemented by the split level promenade which connects the waterside edge of the park with the neighboring plots, offering opportunities for users to stroll, cycle or to simply sit, relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the canal and surrounding area.
